If you're newly engaged, chances are you're already thinking about your Save the Date announcement. Save the Dates are not a requirement but they are a necessary courtesy if you're having a destination wedding or a lot of out of town guests. As a general rule, these should be mailed six months before the wedding and if it's a destination wedding they should be mailed eight months prior.
